The Standing Side Leg Raise Exercise

The standing side leg raise exercise is an exercise that will help strengthen the hips. You may need a chair to help with your balance or you can hold onto the wall. No special equipment is needed for the standing side leg raise exercise and can be performed just about anywhere.  It’s not an overly difficult exercise to perform but depending on your fitness level you may want to try raising your foot 5 to 8 inches off the ground to start. It may take a few tries to get the hang of the standing side leg raise exercise but keep at it, you’ll start to get a feel for the exercise after a few tries.

Important points for the standing side leg raise exercise

·         Keep your free hand either at your side or on your hip (whichever is more comfortable).

·         Keep your head level and eyes on the wall. I suggest picking a spot on the wall and focus on that for the duration of the movement. Don’t look down as this will round your back (you don’t want that).

·         It’ll take a few tries to get the hang of the movement so give it a few workouts.
