Morning Weight Loss Drink Recipe

Do you really want to know one of the most effective ways to lose belly fat? It’s by activating your body’s metabolism at key times and keeping it activated throughout the day. The more active our metabolisms are, the more body fat we burn – simple as that. 

Think of your metabolism as your body’s engine. The more it operates the more fuel it uses and once it stops running, the less fuel it uses. Your job is to get your engine started first thing in the morning and keep it running all day long. Do that and you will burn belly fat and lose weight. Of course, you will need to have your diet under control, which you can find out more here.

Remember, the sooner you can activate your metabolism the sooner you can start to burn fat and one of the best times to do this is as soon as you get up. If you’re serious about losing weight, one way to lose belly fat is to activate your metabolism as soon as you roll out of bed!

Here’s what I want you to do. As soon as you roll out of bed I want you to go to your kitchen and make the following drink:

• 8 ounces of cold water (needs to be cold)

• 1/8 teaspoon of cayenne pepper

• 1/8 teaspoon of ginger

• 1 to 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice (has to be fresh, not the pre-made stuff)

Add all the ingredients into you glass and pound it back (drink it down).

Once you drink it down I want you to do something active. It doesn’t have to be an intense work out or super challenging activity. I just want you to move your body. This can be a short walk up the street, light yoga or some wall push-ups. The point is to activate your body so that your metabolism can turn on and stay turned on for the morning. 

Of course, if you want to do a workout that will be even better! However, to get started and to get your body to kick start its metabolism, have the drink and perform something active. 

Here’s a tip. I will usually grab 8 lemons and juice them on a Sunday. I will store the juice in a container and use that for the week. 8 lemons will usually provide enough juice for the entire week.

Use a shaker bottle or tupperware container to store your lemon juice.

So, why use cayenne pepper, lemon juice and ginger?

Cayenne pepper is a natural thermogenic booster. It will raise your body’s internal temperature which will help boost your metabolism.

Use a dash of cayenne pepper (about 1/8 teaspoon)

Ginger is a natural thermogenic booster and appetite suppressant which helps to boost your metabolism and curb your hunger.

Lemon juice is loaded with vitamins and anti-oxidants in addition to being a great appetite suppressant. 

You will need 1 to 2 tablespoons of lemon juice (freshly squeezed)

I suggest using cold water. The reason is that your body will need to work harder to warm the water up and that means using energy (calories) – Anything helps!

The drink will take some getting used to. I usually gulp it down to avoid the lingering taste. If you simple cannot stand the bitter taste, try adding a bit of honey (no more than half a tablespoon).
